The dark waters are pulling me down again.
They pull me down to awareness, they pull me deeper into myself.
And I know I shouldn’t panic. I know I should have faith.
I’ve been strong, I will continue to be strong.
But fear is ingrained. It is learnt and it is taught.
And unlearning is hard.
Fear is the place I go to when challenges arise.
It is the never ending thing I keep returning too.
It is punishment when the punisher has left the building and moved away.
Surrender, because what we resist, persists.
And I don’t want to be in the dark anymore. Not forever.
Thought provoking!

This was deep in so many ways. Loved the interplay of dark and learning in terms of awareness. That’s so true though isn’t it? In our darkest moments, we find ourselves.

If we allow ourselves, then yes. I try to see every moment as a learning experience.

Very thought-provoking; fear consumes us all sometimes and is difficult to resist. 🙂

Thanks Judy. Sometimes it helps me to look at fear and anxiety the same way we look at addiction. The more we feed it the more it grows.

I feel the same way over fear. The one thing I am learning is not to stop too long there – getting better in turning my head space around faster.

Fear keeps us stuck. And can be a a sometimes insurmountable mountain to climb. But one day at a time is all any of us can do.

It’s so easy to forget all of the challenges we’ve successfully faced. Each time feels like the first.
